Corinthians have won their state championship a record 26 times, the Brasileirão on five occasions, including a double in 1999, and the Copa do Brasil three times; in South America, they reached the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana in 2005, were Copa CONMEBOL and Copa Libertadores semifinalists in 1994 and 2000 respectively, and won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2000, where the Timão ended their 90-year wait for international honors, defeating Vasco da Gama 4–3 in the final, which was held at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro.. !
